Storm Causes Damage In Shiocton Neighborhood

Shiocton, Wisconsin- Multiple trees were uprooted and damaged after a severe thunderstorm moved through the area.


At about 2:30 P.M., heavy rain and strong winds pounded the area. Those winds, estimated to be around 45-55 miles per hour according to neighbors, took down trees in its path.


YNIS found the most damage in the neighborhood of Tackman Lane, Kirschner Road, and Clinton Drive where multiple trees were uprooted and branches covered the streets.


A trained storm spotter reported power outages in the village.


Just minutes after the rain stopped, residents were out surveying the damage and whipping out the chainsaws.


The National Weather Service in Green Bay did issued a severe thunderstorm warning with this storm and posted that 60 mile per hour wind gusts and quarter-sized hail were possible.
