Fire Destroys New London Home

New London, Wisconsin- A home and garage in the Town of Lebanon have been destroyed, however everybody is safe.


The New London Fire Department was called to N5605 Collier Road at 10:33 A.M. Monday, June 25 for a report of a garage fire.


When firefighters arrived, they found smoke and flames engulfing the unattatched garage and part of the house.


Firefighters then found a dog lying under a bed. Firefighters Nick Wickman and Jake Dishno rescued the dog from the home to be reunited with the homeowners- Chreyl Prahl and her son who were not home at the time of the fire, according to a press release.


The New London Fire Department was assisted by several other nearby departments including Manawa, Weyauwega, Bear Creek, Shiocton, local first responders, and the Red Cross.


The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The cost of the damage is currently unknown.
